Abstract

The subject of the diploma thesis is the urban and architectural design of the educational center in the space of the Benedictine monastery garden. The site in question is located in Prague, in the New Town district, and is separated from it by an open space on Trojická Street. To the north, it is adjacent to the Emmaus Monastery with its garden, the eastern side is defined by the buildings on Vyšehradská Street, and the western side is bordered by Pod Slovany Street. The aim of this thesis is to create not only a high-quality building for leisure education, relaxation, and recreation but also to establish an optimal public space for social life complemented by a water feature. The new structure respects the existing development and is surrounded by greenery. For the proposed building, which dominates the monastery garden, underground parking is available.
