Abstract

Subject of this thesis is new control system for reheating furnaces of rolling mills in ArcelorMittal, Ostrava a.s. This thesis analyzes the method of material heating. It describes the reasons that led to new control system creation. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, devices covered by the new control system are described. Next, ArcelorMittal, Ostrava a.s. and the particular plant relevant to this thesis are presented in details. The practical part focuses on the new control system elements, and savings and return on investment in the new control system are calculated. In the final part, I suggest how to evaluate, if the requirements on the new control system were met.
