Abstract

This bachelor´s thesis in its main part deals with aerosol fire extinguishing system and its potential side-effects on structures and materials of buildings. There were made three experimental trials in this thesis to determine the impact of the selected building materials. Some very interesting facts reveal from their results. These facts should be further investigated and findings about their negative secondary phenomena should be expanded, while fire extinguishing agents are used in practice. The actual use of fire extinguishing agents is only one part of a complex conglomerate of the total protection structure of built-up areas and individual buildings against the risk of fire. This bachelor´s thesis is, for these reasons and for completeness' sake of looking at the issue, extended by chapters relating to the legal environment that creates a base of fire safety, general conditions of security, basic resources of extinguishing agents and their application in practice. There is a summary of presented issues, recognition of strengths and weaknesses and basic suggestion on how to proceed in each chapter. The bachelor´s thesis is conceptually structured so as to create the basis for further exploration of the issues that were identified in this work and of the use of research results in practice.
