Abstract

The goal of this Bachelor’s thesis is to describe design and the implementation of a tool for tracing applications in operating system Linux. Events like process and thread creation, reading and writing files, network communication and monitoring of mapped pages are recorded during the tracing process. The resulting log is visualized as a graph where nodes are the recorded entities. The thesis also provides an overview of application tracing techniques.
