Biofiltrace - účinná metoda pro minimalizaci zápachu z ČOV

Abstract

This thesis deals with possibilities of WWTP odor control focusing on biological methods. In the introduction there are described sewage processes that could be the cause of odors at wastewater treatment plants. Further the thesis treats of the characteristics of odor causing substances produced at WWTP. Subsequently, it is focused on different technologies used for removal of odorous compounds from the air mass. The experimental part deals with an evaluation of the biofilter installation at the mechanical biological sewage treatment plant. There is explored potential odor burden on the surrounding area using the two methods, namely a determination of odour concentration by dynamic olfactometry and determination of odorous substances in the external air by field research.
