Abstract

The aim of this Master thesis is to summarize technological possibilities of continual blood glucose monitoring (CGM, or CGMS – Continuous Glucose Monitoring System) using continuous blood glucose sensor for subcutaneous measurements. The thesis deals with a device for continual blood glucose monitoring, the accuracy of CGM measurements, the interconnection of insulin pump with a CGM, and with the development of so called Closed Loop, up to the present. Further on, the thesis presents the use of technology for optimization, or more precisely the compensation treatment of diabetes mellitus. The practical part is devoted to statistical analysis of the CGM data and the laboratory readings of glycaeted haemoglobin (HbA1c) as well as to the software development of CGM data analysis.
