Abstract

The purpose of this work is to determine the iodine value of selected fractions of four samples of the ash from the combustion of the vegetable biomass and the evaluation of the adsorption capacity of the biomass ashes. The first section provides an overview and the description of the species variability of biomass applications, biomass combustion and ash formation, of which are the properties and composition defined, mentioned together with the contemporary possibilities of the utilization of the ash. The following chapter defines the process of the adsorption, quantitative expression by the isotherms and the categorizing of the adsorbents. The experimental part involves sifting on the standard set of sieves, the determination of the iodine number of the fractions of the ash. The sample of the ash with the best results undergoes BET isotherms determination. The fraction of the ash with the most suitable sorption properties is selected in the conclusion.
