Destinační management jako nástroj podpory cestovního ruchu v Ostravě

Abstract

The aim of the thesis was to introduce the third largest city of the Czech Republic, the Statutory City of Ostrava, its natural, cultural, sports potential. The research question was how to support the perception of Ostrava in terms of tourism and present the role of destination management - a tool to support the development of tourism, the importance of which lies in the cooperation, partnership of the public, private, non-profit sector at national, regional and local level. Focusing on an attractive tourist product, with the support of regional destination companies, which build a positive image of the region and financial background at the national level in the form of subsidies to support tourism, leads to sustainable tourism development in the destination. Management and financing of destination management in Ostrava was described. Through a questionnaire survey, interview with destination management and correlation experts, the strengths and weaknesses of the destination were analyzed and measures were proposed along with funding options.
