The Blockchain technology and its application in the protection of intellectual property

Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of Intellectual property's forgery as well as its misappropriation that is nowadays widespread worldwide, even despite the existence of many private firms that can provide IP protection. In the theoretical part, the principles of Blockchain technology, cryptography with its history and also the basics of Intellectual property law are all described. The practical part delivers the web application that provides a solution of IP forgery as it allows users to register their IP of a diverse type (audio, art, literature). The application is based on Blockchain technology, and therefore the data are registered into the Blockchain ledger, which provides a tamper-proof environment that is free to use.

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou falšovania duševného vlastníctva, ako aj jeho spreneverou, ktorá je v súčasnosti rozšírená na celom svete, a to aj napriek existencii mnohých súkromných firiem, ktoré môžu poskytovať ochranu duševného vlastníctva. V teoretickej časti sú popísané princípy technológie Blockchain, kryptografia s jej históriou a základy práva duševného vlastníctva. Praktická časť prináša webovú aplikáciu, ktorá poskytuje riešenie falšovania duševného vlastníctva umožňujúca užívateľom zaregistrovať svoje duševné vlastníctvo rôzneho typu (audio, umenie, literatúra). Aplikácia je založená na technológii Blockchain, a preto sú údaje zapísané do reťazca Blockchain, ktorý poskytuje voľne dostupné prostredie chránené proti neoprávnenému použitiu.
