Abstract
The aim of this master thesis is to verify the possible deployment of optical amplifiers in access networks based on wavelength multiplexing, where the actual verification was used simulations and practical measurements. The first part focuses on the theoretical analysis
a specified issue. Closer is described wavelength multiplexing, then a complete description of the optical access networks and last but not least, the basic analysis of the three most common amplifiers elements. The following section is made up of the proposed models simulated networks L-R PON and WDM-PON optical amplifier applied and compared their results. The last part presents the results of practical measurements on WDM-PON network with applied EDFA amplifier, while the outputs are achieved compared with the results of the simulations.
