Abstract

The thesis is dealing with the problematics of occurrence, stratigraphic classification, and petrographic characteristics of Chlebovice conglomerate. Six locations from the Western Carpathians area which were the objects of exploration in the field and the sampling point were selected for the study of Chlebovice conglomerate. The removed samples were laboratory investigated using palyno-facial analysis, macroscopic and microscopic description of conglomerate and sandstone samples, and powder X-ray diffraction of the matrix conglomerate. In case of one sample there was made a partial paleontological finding of the foraminifera of the genus Gyroidinoides sp. According to the literature, the conglomerates from the investigated areas are classified to the Cenomanian period. Based on the powder X-ray diffraction analysis results the mineral composition of the matrix of the studied samples is specifically for each sample consisted of quartz, muscovite, albite, calcite, kaolinite, pyrite, chlorite, microcline and dolomite.
