Hospodaření Dopravního podniku Ostrava, a. s.

Abstract

This thesis is focusing on the revision and evaluation of Dopravní Podnik Ostrava a.s. financial management between years 2004 and 2008. Dopravní podnik Ostrava a.s., a municipal transportation company of Ostrava city, provides a local transportation services in the area of Ostrava city and its nearest surrounding areas. In the first part I describe and summarize the transportation company as a whole. Later on I go through separate parts of financial management of this company. In second part, an analysis and comparison of separate groups of costs, revenues and profits is carried out. In the conclusion I state my opinion about potential improvements of services offered to public, including comparison of profits.
