Hodnocení mechanických vlastností napříč heterogenním svarovým spojem s využitím instrumentované indentace

Abstract

The bachelor thesis investigates the possibility of using the instrumented indentation method instead of tensile testing in order to determine the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength. The use of the instrumented indentation method has the advantage that it is not necessary to prepare specimens as in the case of tensile testing. Thus, there is no need to extract a sample from the component under test. In this work, measurements of the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength were carried out using both instrumented indentation technique and tensile testing and the results of both methods were compared together with a satisfactory agreement. The tests were carried out on dissimilar metal weld joint. Additionaly, optical microscopy was used to examine the microstructure throughout the weldment.
