Abstract

This graduation thesis is concerned with the procurement and inventory management issues, such as having emerged in the operations of a major metallurgical company during the period of the second half-year 2008 and the first half-year 2009 on the background of the crisis factors’ growing impact. This thesis provides practical solutions based on gained theoretical knowledge of the key categories such as inventory keeping and managing, inventory total volume, inventory optimum volume, inventory turnover rate and speed, etc. under current application of the ABC Method which uses differentiated approach to each purchased components. This thesis also provides solutions to issues associated with the company’s key economic indicators development in the liquidity, profitability, company indebtedness, etc. The suggested solutions are based on the company’s published economic results over the 2006-2008 period.
