Abstract

This thesis is dedicated to social networks in a more detailed scale. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical section are listed various kinds of social networks today, as these species from each different, why some social networking so popular and what are the user's activity in their environment. The thesis also deals with the opportunities that social networking offers, whether a user or a corporate entity. There are also recorded threats that are associated with social networks, as well as areas in which social networks use today and how it changed the way today's communication. In the practical part of the points outlined for effective use of social networks in business for small and medium businesses in the Czech Republic. Among these companies was also carried out a sociological survey, which was intended to determine the current status of the use of social networks in business, what activities and tools for companies using social networks and what is their view of social networks.
