Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to measure the temperature of a brake disc by both contact and non-contact method, and subsequent comparison of the values measured. For the non-contact measurement, I have used a pyrometer and a thermocamera. I have measured the temperature by the contact method with the help of a K-type thermocouple. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the analysis of the measurement tools functional principle. It was necessary to understand Kirchhoff’s law of a gray body radiation, and Planck’s law of an ideal black body. It also deals with the description of brake discs, concerning their making process from both material and constructional perspective. All of these information and measured values are then incorporated in charts and graphs
