Využitie voľne dostupných satelitných údajov na monitorovanie zmien vegetácie v pilotnej oblasti haldy Heřmanice

Abstract

The bachelor thesis focuses on the monitoring of vegetation changes in the area of the Heřmanice tailing dump using satellite data. The main aim of this thesis was to assess the suitability of freely available satellite data for periodic monitoring of vegetation on the surface of the Heřmanice tailing dump. The observation of changes was carried out using vegetation indices and image classification. The bachelor thesis consists of three parts. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the characteristics of the Heřmanice tailing dump, the principles of remote sensing, types of freely available satellite data, description of vegetation indices and image classification. The practical part of the thesis describes the software used and the image processing procedure. The last part of the thesis is focused on the evaluation of the results of the work and the visualization of the changes in vegetation over the studied years. Also, this part of the thesis deals with recommending a procedure for monitoring changes in vegetation in the landscape after mining activities.
