Abstract
This dissertation deals with an effect of mechanical deformation of fiber gratings on optical power in optical fiber. The dissertation is divided into four main parts. First part is devoted to the description of essential features and principles of fiber gratings. Second part describes measurement concept of optical power in fiber with grating and lattice strain effect of deformation on power. In the third part is described simulation in Optiwave software, concept of gratings creation in Optigrating tool and simulation of behavior of fiber with created gratings in Optisystem tool. Last part of the dissertation is devoted to evaluation of performed measurements, simulations and usage of fiber gratings in telecommunication and sensor area
