Abstract
This thesis presents the production flow of ingots to be manufactured as cylinders in PILSEN STEEL s.r.o. Theoretical analysis describes the technological factors affecting the internal quality of ingots, and the problems of solidification and occurrence of internal defects in ingots to be manufactured as cylinders. In the experimental part, the effect of casting and solidification of the internal quality of the I10NH forge ingot from DHQ1 steel generally produced in the company PILSEN STEEL s.r.o was examined. Casting and solidification effect has been studied by simulation of I10NH ingot solidification using MAGMAsoft program. Verification of the results obtained from the simulation of I10NH ingot solidification in MAGMAsoft program had then been conducted on an experimental I10NH cast ingot used to evaluate the actual status of internal quality of applicable ingot.
