Abstract

This thesis contains a proposal for the direct relocation of technological equipment from the coalface. I open with the position of the site and the localised characteristics of the seam. I then describe the chronological development and deployment of mining techniques as they pertain to the technology involved in the relocation. In the next section, I discuss possible options for the relocation and suggest an alternative.Subsequently, I set out the security measures governing all working operations. Finally, I asses the various options from an economic point of view. The conclusion is devoted to an evaluation of all aspects.
