Abstract

The main target of this Bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact of the construction of a cycling route on the micro region Rožnovsko. Rožnovsko has great potential, especially in the tourism which dominates there. Therefore, it was desirable to extend the local infrastructure for the new cycling route. Major advantages of cycling routes mainly lie in propagation and development of tourism and also in protection of the population against environmental problems. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the factors of regional development, tourism and cycling terms. It also characterizes the micro region Rožnovsko as the suitable region for tourism. The practical part examines how the micro region Rožnovsko has been affected by the construction of the cyclic route. The usage of the cycling route is one of the important aspects for the evaluation of the impact. The calculation of users of the cycling route was carried out in 2011. The most frequent users are cyclists, inline skaters and pedestrians. The cycling route has also an influence on local businesses that take the advantage of its potential. On the other hand, it is obvious that the cycling route also brings some negative aspects. The thesis points them out and suggests some improvement. The opinions of users of the cycling route, their wishes and requirements are important, too. That is why, the thesis also includes the questionnaire.
