Abstract
This thesis summarizes the information that has been found so far about the high-entropy alloys. The practical part deals with the prediction of the crystallographic structure. This prediction proves to be crucial to determining the properties of the alloy and would greatly assist in designing the composition of the alloy. For this purpose, predictions with valence electron concentration and nickel and chromium equivalents are used. Four FexCrCuMnNi alloys containing Fe 50, 60, 70 and 80 wt% were used for the calculations. Calculated results were then compared with data obtained by hard X-rays.
