Abstract

This thesis is focused on studying the process of hot blast stoves heating the blast for blast furnace. In a theoretical part history, function, structure, types of stoves, heating phases, used armatures in gas and air line as in hot blast and waste gas line are included. Calculation part is focused on the process of combusting the gas which is heating the grid of the stove. Based on the composition of used fuels calorific value, heat of combustion, waste gas volume is calculated and by enthapy of used medium the temperature of combustion is calculated. These are presented for a given volume composition of blast furnace and coke oven gas used for heating the wind for blast furnace 2 at ArcelorMittal Ostrava Inc. In the experimental part recuperative type heat exchanger application is suggested through this the waste gas would flow to preheat the combustion gas and air and thereby increase the temperature of combustion.
