Abstract
One of the possibilities of using intercalates based on clay and humic acid is their utilization in pollutant recovery, e.g. waste water in waste management. However, this application runs up against problems connected to solubility of humic acids at higher pH values. That is why the interaction between the humic acids and clay materials is studied here. If the humic acids attach themselves onto the clay materials, they can play the role of ion sorbents of heavy metals, and at the same time the clay humic acid intercalate insoluble in a wide range of pH values. This thesis investigates the ensuing sorption of Ag+ and Cr6+ in the form of dichromic anions onto these intercalates. Intercalates clay-humic acid based on clay minerals SWy-2, vermiculite Letovice and Bentonite 75 were prepared without the pH adjustment, further on also for pH 4, and respectively 1. Apart from the sorption of the above mentioned ions, the amount of sorbed humic substances for different pH values and the procedure of sorption by VIS spectroscopy method were stated. The forms of detected humic substances, including the clay sorption mechanisms were determined as well. Intercalates were also characterized by the methods of IR spectroscopy and XRD diffraction.
