Abstract

The outline of theoretical points that are trying to find a solution to the development of city centre opens an issue of disturbance of these localities. The goals and requirements for urbanistic project are defined by summary of the current condition of the handled region. Effort of this thesis is thus renewal not only of the development in assigned area but also renewal of its original function. The assigned locality lost its former significance due to insensitive demolitions, construction interventions and conversions. Proposed development relates to prevailing adjacent objects and accepts their spatial arrangement and character. Function of these objects is composite – buildings with built-in public utilities which are typical for housing of city centres. Transport services are arranged as both dynamic and static. Access to assigned area is designed well also for pedestrians. Rest of the site is comprised of areas of public green. The goal is revitalisation of part of disturbed urbanistic complex associated with renewal of public utilities in the region of Silesian Ostrava.
