Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis is focused on the end-product stabilization method (the finalproduct of fluegascleaning), which arises from the energy utilization of municipal waste. The methodis based on end-product solidification using cement matrices. Mixing the end product, cement and water resulted in a mixture that was exposed to a solidification process. Matrices were prepared, further aqueous leachates were prepared from these matrices. The prepared water extracts were subsequently analysis for selected toxic elements. According to the results of the analysis, the most suitable alkaline binder was evaluated based on the level of fixation of the toxic elements. Most concentrations of water extracts do not exceed the limit values given by the valid legislation of the Czech Republic. The result is that cement is a suitable binder for the stabilization of toxic elements, especially for two reasons, the economic aspect and easy accessibility. On the basis of these aspects, cementation is anticipated in the future.
