Vylepšení infrastruktury webové aplikace Kelvin

Abstract

Předmětem této diplomové práce je vylepšení infrastruktury a automatizace operací spojených s vývojem a nasazováním webové aplikace Kelvin, využívané pro podporu výuky na katedře informatiky FEI VŠB-TUO. Zaměřuje se především na aplikaci moderních principů Continuous Integration a Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) s využitím platforem GitHub Actions a Docker. Hlavními přínosy práce jsou refaktoring procesu sestavování kontejner obrazů, návrh vlastního řešení pro nasazování aplikace a přepis služby evaluátoru pro striktnější izolaci zpracování studentských úloh a mitigaci zranitelností typu XSS. K dalším úpravám patří integrace automatizované správy softwarových závislostí.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the improvement of infrastructure and automation of processes related to the development and deployment of the Kelvin web application, which is used to support teaching at the Department of Computer Science, FEI VŠB-TUO. The thesis focuses on applying modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) principles using GitHub Actions and Docker. The main contributions include refactoring the container image build process, designing a custom deployment solution, and rewriting the evaluator service to enforce stricter isolation in student assignment processing and to mitigate XSS vulnerabilities. Additional improvements involve the integration of automated software dependency management.
