Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the corrosion protection of brake control system. The theoretical part describes the hydraulic brake system of a car and its various functional areas focusing on the materials, which they are normally constructed of. The bachelor thesis further discusses the effects of aggression and aggressive corrosive environment, corrosion of metals, non-metals and plastics. Subsequently deals with their protection against corrosive attack and describes the protective coatings used in the automotive industry. The practical part explores the influence of corrosive environmenton the zinc and cataphortic coating of brake pedals. The aim of this work is to suggest a suitable corrosion protection of control and functional parts of the car’s brake system.
