Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of occupational safety and health at civilian shooting ranges. The aim of the thesis is to assess risks at a selected, anonymized facility and to propose measures to improve safety for all individuals present on the premises. The theoretical section analyzes legislative requirements in the field of occupational health and safety and reflects changes resulting from the new Firearms and Ammunition Act, which have a direct impact on the safety of shooting range operations. It also includes a definition of risk management with a focus on the risk assessment process, which serves as the methodological basis for the practical section. In the practical part, the hazards are identified and analyzed using brainstorming and the “What if” method. The resulting risk level is determined using a risk assessment matrix. The conclusion of the thesis proposes specific technical and organizational recommendations aimed at reducing the severity of the identified hazards or their possible elimination, and subsequently optimizing the safe operation of the shooting range.
