Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to get acquainted with the strategic management, to analyse the present situation of the company XYZ s. r. o. (strategic analysis) and to work out suggestions and recommendations how to improve the contemporary position of the company. The first chapter (chapter No. 2) is focused on a theory of the strategic management, strategy, strategic thinking and conception of shareholder value . The second chapter (chapter No. 3) is dealing with the management tools of the individual processes of the strategic management, there are described more specificaly following managent tools: method PEST, Porter’s five forces model of competition, method BCG, SWOT analysis. The fourth and fifth chapter is focused on the basic characteristics of the company XYZ s. r. o. and on the strategic analysis of the present situation of the company XYZ s. r. o. The last chapter (chapter No. 6) is concerned with the suggestions and recommendations how to improve the present position of this company.
