Abstract
The main aim of the thesis was to assess the relationship between engineering-geological zones and landscape elements. The study was conducted on the territory of the whole Czech Republic. The basis for the evaluation were maps at the scale of 1:500 000 and landscape elements were evaluated on the basis of European Corine database. A partial aim of this thesis was also to find relation to hydrogeological zones and quaternary geological structure. The methodology that was used for the evaluation was based on the tools of geographic information systems. The areal extend of engineering-geological zones, hydrogeological zones, quaternary geological structures and landscape elements were compared in the Czech Republic. An evaluating of the relationship between engineering geological zones and landscape elements showed that as most extensive engineering- geological zone in the Czech Republic was found zone of highly metamorphosed rocks (Mv) with area of 1811157 ha (22.97%) in which the most common landscape elements were fields and meadows with area of 1047695 ha (13.29%).
