Abstract
This thesis deals with the wastewater treatment by means of wetlands within the Moravian-Silesian Region. The theoretical part is devoted to the history of wetlands for wastewater treatment (WWT), wastewater treatment by means of natural and artificial wetlands, types and utilization of vegetation waste water treatment plants. This section also describes the functions and effects of vegetation on cleaning processes in WWT. The aim of the practical part is to map the occurrence of wetlands for wastewater treatment in the Moravian-Silesian Region and to identify causes and consequences, advantages and shortcomings in the management of the selected wetlands in the Moravian-Silesian Region. To achieve the objective, the questionnaire method was used. The respondents were qualified workers responsible for WWT operation in the villages of Štáblovice, Prostřední Dvůr and Kojkovice.
