Abstract

The present diploma thesis lists the results of monitoring of ecotoxicity released in mining water from the Ostrava-karvina coal district (OKR) from water pit of Jeremenko (VJJ). Ecotoxicity of the discharged mine water was monitred on marine luminescent bacteria Vibrio fischeri, Folsomia candida, white mustard seeds (Sinapis alba) and lettuce (Latuca sativa). Given the proven production of AMD from tailings in OKR, which has lead to release of heavy metals in the mining water from which VJJ tracked metal content. The metal content is low (units μg/l) and significantly does not affect ecotoxicity. The results of this thesis show that the three monitored organisms (chvostokok, white mustard and lettuce) react negatively to the increased concentrations of halite. 30% inhibition was identified for the concentration of chlorides ˂ 190 mg/l, but in the case of water from VJJ corresponds to twenty time dilution. Mine water discharged from VJJ significantly affect the quality of water in the river Ostravice
