Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of reducing the nitrogen content in the steel during its production focusing on the steel produced in electric arc furnace and refining in VOD equipment. The work is divided into several parts. The first part describes the production of steel in electric arc furnace facility. The following part of the paper summarizes the basic knowledge about the dissolution of nitrogen in the steel. Dissolution of nitrogen in the steel and the transition of nitrogen from the bath away is described. In next parts of this bachelor thesis, current knowledge of word literature on the topic is discussed. The conclusion summarizes knowledge that have been discussed in detail in the work and summarizes the most important facts for the production of steel with low nitrogen content.
