Abstract
This thesis focuses on the comparison of conventional low-pressure die casting to the special method of counter-pressure die casting. The thesis consists two main parts: theoretical and experimental. The theoretical part describes the properties of aluminum compounds, with focus on the AlSi7Mg0.3, which the compared casting is made of, its main alloying elements and their effects. Furthermore, the work describes the principles of both low-pressure casting and counter-pressure casting, some defects in castings produced using both technologies and ways to detect them. The experimental part is focused on comparing the quality of castings produced by the two technologies. The comparison is proven on the basis of evaluation of mechanical, microstructural properties, chemical analyzes and non-destructive testing described in the theoretical part.
