Abstract
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the assessment of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for perimeter protection of facilities. The theoretical part presents an overview of UAV types, onboard technologies, legal and ethical considerations, and counter-UAV methods. The practical part includes simulated scenarios comparing various UAV types (quadcopter, fixed-wing drone, hybrid VTOL drone) on a model industrial site, evaluating their effectiveness in relation to traditional human security. The findings show that a well-chosen UAV system can significantly enhance monitoring efficiency and reduce security costs. The thesis offers a comprehensive insight into the applicability of UAVs in facility protection and provides recommendations for real-world implementation.
