Abstract
The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the situation regarding the applicability of the graduates on the labour market in the Czech Republic. Based on the undertaken evaluation we tried to identify specific problems pertaining to graduates of secondary schools. Subsequently we are proposing individual recommendations for policy makers with emphasis on the role of educational policy. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical definition of marginalization, social exclusion, the range of flexibility on the labour market and disadvantaged persons. A more detailed section will be the part concerning the right of young people and graduates. The next section is devoted to applicability of graduates on the labour market in the Czech Republic. The results of the investigation demonstrate that school graduates represent one of the most disadvantaged population groups in the labour market, which is difficult to apply due to lack of work experience. Their ability to be employed is mainly affected by not only the level of education and occupational structure but also the overall economic situation in the country. Of course, to be a graduate brings many disadvantages, mainly being lack of practice and experience. However, they can compete with several advantages like flexibility, knowledge of foreign languages, computer skills or up-to-date general knowledge. The third part of the thesis describes in more detail each problem of this applicability. Based on this the last chapter tries to offer some recommendations for improving the graduate‘s overall situation on the market in the Czech Republic.
