Abstract
This thesis consults the dynamic stability of an MV drilling ship distribution power system. The main theoretical topics needed for stability analysis are explained as the basic functionality of a ship´s distribution power system, including protection scheme and system operations. The practical part is realized by using software Digsilent Power Factory 2018 for network creation with necessary settings of the automatic voltage regulator and governor of synchronous machine. The simulation contains 4 examples of transient events, which may happen (symmetrical 3 phase short circuit, sudden loss of generation, and sudden increase and decrease of load). Simulations are evaluated by graphical representation.
