Abstract

This thesis focuses on the explosion risk assessment in a specific industrial powder coating plant operated by Nordic Steel. The theoretical part summarizes legislative requirements and technical standards defining safety in environments with a risk of combustible dust explosions. The practical part contains a detailed analysis of the technological units of the line, from chemical pretreatment through the coating booth to the curing ovens. Based on the identification of ignition sources and the determination of explosion hazardous zones, an Explosion Protection Document (EPD) is proposed. The thesis also includes proposals for technical and organizational measures aimed at minimizing identified risks and ensuring compliance with current Czech and EU regulations."
