Abstract

The importance of competitiveness and resilience has been on the rise in recent decades, especially due to numerous economic shocks and globalization. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and evaluate international and national competitiveness on the example of Scandinavian countries and the resilience of their economies. The work uses the results of monitoring international competitiveness according to the World Economic Forum and other major organizations, while also monitoring national competitiveness, which is included in the specific documents of individual countries. The traffic light method is used to compare the international competitiveness of the monitored countries, which is an effective comparison tool due to the differentiation of the colour scale. Great attention is also paid to current societal issues that have a significant impact on the resilience and competitiveness of the countries under review, such as migration crises, environmental protection, and the covid-19 pandemic.
