Abstract

This thesis solves the effects of selected dishwashing detergents on respiration inhibition of microorganisms in activated sludge from waste water treatment plants. Measurement was running on activated sludge from two Ostrava waste water treatment plants – on WWTP Ostrava and WWTP Michálkovice. The both of these WWTP belong to OVAK, a.s. Respiration inhibition was measured by means of Strathtox unit (Strathkelvin Instruments Ltd.). It was proved in this thesis that microorganisms in astivated sludge have different sensitivity determined by measuring the respiration inhibition. Activated sludge from WWTP Ostrava is less sensitive for higher concentrations of pollutants.
