Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with occupational health and safety issues related to lone workers in the construction industry. The thesis analyses the risks associated with geodetic surveying work on a linear transport construction site, where the worker performs tasks without direct supervision by another employee. The theoretical part defines the concept of lone work, describes the legislative framework applicable in the Czech Republic, and characterises the selected profession and employer. The analytical part includes an analysis of the current state of OHS provision, results of field research at a specific construction site, and systematic risk assessment using What-if analysis, point-based risk scoring, and a risk matrix. Based on the analysis, a total of 12 risks were identified, of which 7 were classified as high. The design part presents a comprehensive protection system using the TWIG One personal safety device, including its configuration for geodetic work conditions, a safe work procedure, an escalation protocol, and methodological documentation. The final part of the thesis verifies the compliance of the proposed system with legislative requirements and the BS8484 standard, assesses the reduction in risk levels, and evaluates the economic viability of the solution.
