Hodnocení ekologického a chemického stavu mokřadního ekosystému Pateira de fermentelos (Portugalsko),návrhy pro zlepšení jeho stavu v rámci WFD a zmírnění vlivu klimatických změn.

Abstract

The aim of dissertation thesis is to evaluate the ecological and chemical status of the wetland ecosystem Pateira de Fermentelos in Portugal, that is part of the NATURA 2000 network, within the water framework directive 2000/60/EC (WFD). For that purpose, water and sediment samples were collected in May 2011, at 5 selected sampling sites, and were analysed for selected parametres. In the theoretical part drivers of ecosystem changes are explained, as well as ecosystem services and functions provided by wetlands. So far results of presumed water status classification by WFD are mentioned, as well as the relationship between managing water resources within WFD and negative effects of climate changes on wetland ecosystems. Included are also hydrological and climatological characteristics of Pateira de Fermentelos with the overview of current land use. The practical part of thesis contains the statistical evaluation of data gathered from analyses of biological (macroinvertebrates), physicochemical (temperature, pH, conductivity, nutrients) and chemical parameters (heavy metals and organochlorine pesticides) to assess the status of the wetland and its water quality. In the final part of this thesis you can find suggestions for improving wetland’s conditions within the Water Framework Directive and reducing the impact of climate changes.
