Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with gender differentials on the Czech Labor Market. Based on a review of literature and descriptive analyzes, the thesis aids at giving an overview of determinants of gender labor market differential with a particular focus on the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis reviews theoretical and empirical literature on main determinant of wage differences between men and women. The second part shows a development in gender differences both in the Czech Republic since the Fall of Iron Curtain till present and compares the differences with development in other countries. The third part deals with causes and consequences of wage differentials and provides a specific example, which shows in which area are the differences largest. I provide a summary of findings and potential recommendations for policy makers and firms to at least partially eliminate these gender differences on the labor market.
