Abstract

This bachelor thesis was written as part of an individual professional practice in the company LINET spol. s r.o. It deals with the design and partial implementation of modifications and extension of the computer network in the production plant. The current infrastructure was not in a satisfactory condition, due to the planned expansion of the equipment and the introduction of the Electronic Control Protocol (ECP). The aim of the thesis was to design a new network infrastructure that would comply with current standards and modern requirements for transmission speed, including sufficient reserve with regard to the future. It also includes the design of a new substation, including its equipment (UPS, air conditioning, electrical switchboard), but above all a data switchboard. The aim of the proposed infrastructure is a high-speed connection between the existing server, the existing switches and the newly built data substation. In addition, the backbone network will be built using patch boxes. The work also includes costing and possible future expansion. The result is a clear and functional network documentation including recommendations for further development.
