Geoturistické využití informací o vulkanických ostrovních řetězcích havajského typu

Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the characteristics of the most famous volcanic islands of the Hawaiian type - Hawaiian Islands, Galapagos, Cape Verde, Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira. It describes their geological composition and volcanic activity. Related to this is a specific fauna and flora, in many cases endemic. In the individual archipelagos, the distance between the highest points of the most important islands is measured, in the order from the youngest to the oldest. Subsequently, the shift of individual hotspots over time is calculated with the evaluation of the relationship to the lithospheric plates on which they are located. From the obtained values it can be deduced which of the monitored areas was more volcanically active in the past and where activity can be expected in the present.
