RNDr. Karla Barčová Ph.D. This diploma thesis deals with the protection of persons against ionizing radiation in the handling of radiopharmaceuticals. The theoretical part includes basic properties of ionizing radiation and its effects on the human body. Characterized used methods and ways of protection when handling ionizing radiation. Below are the main principles and principles of radiation protection, basic quantities and units of radiation protection, radiation detection methods, description and parameters used detectors. The practical part is focused on the analysis of risks handling of ionizing radiation sources and evaluate the results of the measured values in monitoring workplace Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Faculty Hospital Ostrava.
