Abstract
This thesis is dealing with the replacing of coal mill drive in heating plant. The introduction describes current mill drive and there is described the starting of the gear and also described drive daily loads. The next chapter describes the types of loads, starting methods and speed regulation methods for asynchronous electric motors. The following chapter describes the design of the basic parameters for the upgraded drive and there are compared two possible types of drives for replacement of the existing drive.
