Abstract

This thesis deals with the possibilities of using sludge from wastewater treatment plants on composting. The first part describes the properties of sewage sludge in terms of stabilization and hygienization of sludge as a product of waste water treatment. Next part of this thesis summarizes the use of sludge and describes methods and development of sewage sludge treatment in the Czech Republic and the world. Evaluation of the nutrient content present in the sludge follows and the work focuses on the technology of sludge composting, where the conditions and the course of correct composting process are described and the individual composting technologies and the possibility of subsequent use of composts with the contents of sewage sludge are also mentioned.
