Abstract

The thesis deals with the suitability of using wallnut shells (Juglans regia) as possible sorbents for chromium (VI) elimination of water solutions. Suitability of the biosorbent was checked by determination of its adsorption capacity (equilibrium) and speed (biosorption kinetics) of hexavalent chromium binding. The samples were chemically activated by 0,1 mol/l, 1 mol/l, 2 mol/l sodium hydroxide and hydrochlorid acid to activate binding points of walnut shell (Juglans regia) cell walls structure. Redistelled water was used instead of activating agents at the comparative sample. I used Langmuir´s isotherms mathematical model to interpret the results.
